To Pause

When you stop and look at silver threads that cascade down from heights in trees, the silver mist that catches light becomes a brilliance that fills the sight. The wonder of a warming day, when snow has fallen, painting limbs with snowy grace that lift towards the sun. Needles glisten and then they spray their shedding glory that all may say -“that’s beautiful!”

When you pause, and breathe the sweet clear air that wraps a forest, when sun is bright and scents drift free, you feel the  lift within your heart, to know, this moment is all right. The air delights the skin that feels the warmth of sun, the cool of breeze, that promises a freshness given, that opens up a space that sighs with – “I belong!”

When you slowly turn with eyes renewed, to look at friends who share this too, you sense anew that who they are, is more important and goes beyond, the things that just a day ago demanded more of you. You feel the joy, the blessing given, of being still and laughing free, of speaking things that reconnect and whisper “I really am amazed by you!”
