Legs a running

A saw a dad embrace a son

his heart was torn and raw.

He hung his head in pain and shame

yet wished for something more.

He really wanted comfort,

but locked himself away,

until strong arms reached out to say-

“I saw you yesterday!

I did not see the anger.

I did not hear the lies.

I saw within a young man’s cry

the heart that called my name.”

I sent my legs a running.

I lifted up strong arms.

I sought until I found you –

this son, who’s darkness became sun.

Air is still

When the air is still and the breezes warm,

I lie in peace upon my floor.

The cool of earth helps my spirit arise

as heavenly vision grants me surprise.

To contemplate, while feeling peace,

grants me the context for belief.

My faith is anchored within a life that bleeds,

yet soars above the pain that panic breeds.

I sense the future within eyes that yearn

for mercy’s kindness that calls them home.

The stirring vastness at being’s core,

always awakens when love’s song forms.

The shock of life that wakens eyes

can never be mistaken for “just” surprise.

A journey begins with just one gasp,

as air kisses spirit with just one pass.

The journey follows where’er hints lead

until encounters soften pain’s hard seed.
